ÄLVSTADEN

Background
Älvstaden is the centre of Gothenburg on both sides, a large area waiting to be transformed into a vibrant and attractive city centre. Much will happen in the area and a holistic approach has now been taken to the development of the area in the form of a vision. The vision has been shaped by the Central River City project group in an open dialogue with citizens and urban development experts.

Mission
We were commissioned to design and develop the website for the River City. It will serve as a tool for those who will work based on the vision. We have developed the idea, concept and design for the web and developed the website. New icons and graphic elements have been produced from the existing graphic profile.

Challenge
An important part of the assignment was to create a solution that would be accessible to everyone and work equally well regardless of platform or device. This placed great demands on how the information should be presented and the work on the website involved a lot of testing to arrive at the right solution. The website would also serve as presentation material on screen in connection with exhibitions.

Solution
Through responsive design, which fully adapts to the resolution of the device you are browsing on, we were able to ensure accessibility. We also developed a full-screen mode for selected parts of the website. Visitors to the site can browse the site on a tablet, a mobile phone or a computer and have an equally good experience whatever the medium. The WordPress publishing tool allows the customer to easily manage the content and make updates themselves.
